Juniper Dunes Wilderness Area

Juniper Dunes is not far from our home in Washington. It is the Northern most home for Juniper Trees in the United States. Ryan often goes to offroad with some buddies here. This time we went as a family and crossed the gate into the protected area for a hike. It was a perfect day, cloudy and warm, but not too warm. We didn't manage to get our crew all the way to the heavily treed area but we still had fun.

 Rolling down a sand dune.

I climbed this! I think I might be crazy.
And they are both smiling! :)

Carter used his birthday money to buy a hydration backpack. He really wanted an orange one (his newly decided favorite color) but the blue one fit his small body better.

Carter is 5

Carter said "I can't believe I am going to be five" and I can't believe it either. We opened presents and shared homemade ice cream cake with friends. Then Carter and his friends played a Super Mario Bros Wii game. It was crazy watching those little people that have been friends for so long play a video game together. I am sure they will being doing the same in 10 years. Crazy!
