compliment?
Your skin is like chicken broth
Leftover night
All the fat floats to the top
and it makes you so soft
No stop.
Don't move.
It will make you less soft.
-Ryan
umm thanks I think.

i am crying
okay not really. Carter has figured out how to remove the tray from his high chair. I put him in the chair and while I was washing the tray. He decided that Landon was crying so he went to go talk to him. When I went and got them both Carter points to the high chair and says "Lan-don's chair" and then Carter climbs up to one of the bar stools. I think he has no problem passing on his more childish items to Landon.
for the record Carter is eating his cereal in the high chair I just better get him out when he is done or I will have mop too. (he doesn't know how to remove the tray without it doing a flip.)

Before and After
Weekend Projects
If you look in the back you can see the huge tree limb that Ryan cut down that he is making into fire wood for next winter.
For Nicci's Wedding I had to have blue shoes.. I went to every store in Idaho Falls and found zero cute shoes. So we did the next best thing and we fabricated some blues ones.. we had some leftover spray paint from that project and decided to paint these two pots blue. What do you think? I hope you like the blue one better. Cause we can't go back. :)

Carter has some magnet toys and when you have magnet toys you need a magnet board to go with it. (I am also thinking about making him some magnet Tangrams). Ryan used old casing on which the original homeowner wrote their names on the back to make the frame. I don't know if you can tell in the picture but the before and after are different. We sanded it and than painted it BRIGHT green and than white and than we sanded and distressed it back down to the green in some spots. We figure Carter's furniture will all end up distressed and the green will give it some good character.

3 months old!
You are such a good baby! Like amazingly. You are such a smiley little man and that makes us so happy. We all love you so much. The other day you were sitting up a bit on your pillow and Carter got down and looked up at you and said "I ooove you Lan-don." and than sat up and kissed your head. I loved that moment. Makes me so happy that you two are getting along.
You sleep really well. You rarely get up before 5 am and than you sleep until usually around 7:30. You have been sharing with Carter the last few nights and you have both done well. We are excited for you to be room shares. I think it will help you boys create a great brotherly bond. We are excited to watch you grow and change more and more.
Love you bunches.
Momma.

Birthday Boy
On Monday we had birthday cookies after Family Home Evening. Nothing too exciting just cake mix cookies with a cream cheese frosting (green cream cheese). Ryan's family came over yesterday and we had a cupcake party with them and opened presents he sure loved having family over. We had a lot of fun. Thanks for coming.
And if you haven't gotten your Carter fill of pictures here you go. Notice my alligator cupcake cake. Ryan put an alligator on the table just in case you can't tell. And Carter's favorite letter is A so that's the one we let him spit on and than eat. See if you can find the one picture that includes Landon.. Enjoy..

bed update.. one night this weekend Carter fell asleep against his bedroom door. No screaming just a lot of talking and knocking. Last night we listened carefully until we could tell he was very tired than we moved him back to the toddler bed while he was still awake and he didn't get out again. We will see how week 2 goes.

bedtime change
By popular demand.. aka this is for you Ms. Sam.
"So does he sleep in a toddler bed or a crib? Or yours? How's the transition? "
Carter has had a toddler bed and a crib in his room for about 8 months. He has slept in the toddler bed 5 times in that time. 4 in the last 5 nights. So as you can guess we are trying harder to get him to sleep in the big boy bed. At bedtime we ask him which bed he wants to sleep in and usually he chooses the toddler big aka he goes down without too much of a fuss. The one night he stood at his door screaming he got put in the crib. That was two nights ago. Today I put him in the toddler bed for a nap and 30 mins later I went in to check him (after making sure there was zero noise on the baby monitor) and he was asleep in the reading chair. So I moved him back to his bed. Later I went in to wake him and he was sitting in the reading chair awake. I don't really care if he sleeps in the toddler bed at this point for naps. Today was the first attempt to nap in the toddler bed. Landon doesn't need the crib for naps and will not for awhile. So that will come with time. So answer for your question yes and yes and Yes when he has nightmares we let him sleep in our surprisingly too small king.. But that is very rare. and the transition is nice he wakes up happier when he can just get up and play. But this is also only the first week.
Here is hoping that Landon doesn't out grow the bassinet before Carter gets this all figured out.
edited to add:
oh and we leave the pillow and stuffed animals in the toddler bed as an added reason to sleep in the big boy bed.. but we don't point that out to him. Just sleeping in the big bed is so much better. right?

Happy Birthday Carter!
Dear Carter,
You are two!! I can't believe how fast you have grown. We love your crazy loud personality.
Lately you have been calling me Liz. I don't hate it but I certainly don't love it. For the most part Liz is a attention getter because I guess I ignore you too much. But lucky for me you have never said thank you Liz only thank you momma. You are getting pretty good with sentences. You say Landon, crying. and a few others but Landon, crying and thank you momma the most.. not that he cries much but he is a baby.
Today we went to Story time at the library and you are a riot. We were looking a the fish and you put your nose in the water than you were up in the greenery and than you but your boot in the water and than our friend started screaming/crying and ran off.. so we decided it was time to leave. You are one of those children that make me very grateful for a stroller. You love looking at everything and touching things.
You and daddy have been shoveling snow together (we want our front yard to melt one day so we are shoveling the snow into the street, I saw our neighbor raking her snow so that it would be thinner and melt faster (who knew people had to do these things?? I didn't)). Today was such lovely weather that when we got home, we shoveled some of the snow in the shade into the sun. So hopefully it will all melt soon. You loved being outside. Soon we will start going to the parks again. I've missed being outside so much and so have you. Yesterday me and you laid on the couches in the sun room and watched the birds up in our tree. Two years old is going to be so much fun. You certainly do love life.
Love you,
Momma

talk
Carter says a few things that I just love! Wanted them on video. Sadly this is all prompted. But I still love it. My Favorite is when he says thank you momma. He usually will say thank you up too three times (thank you momma, thank you.) if he really is grateful but didn't get that.

no jeans
Carter has decided that he does not like blue jeans. The last 3 days he has said no and then will look in his drawer and find sweat pants! I mean I think it's a smart comfy choice but we have playgroup and places to go and jeans just look so much better. Maybe we should see if they make these for toddlers.. haha just kidding.

music
I am borrowing a keyboard so that I can be better in my church calling. I put my music away during Carter's nap. He just got up. He went and sat down at the keyboard and noticed the music was gone. He got down looked around and said "uh oh". I asked him if he wanted music and he said yes. The of course he said thank you, momma when I gave him the music. He is practicing very nicely.
March!!
It is March first! I am so excited.. I love February (for obvious reasons.. Birthday Month!!) but March is going to be so great! Carter is going to turn 2 very soon and there are a lot more birthdays in March. Plus the snow has been melting the last few days. Our long lost grandparents will return from the south. AND we finally will be able to go outside!! Carter and I have cabin fever bad.. very bad.
