Cleaning Up

Ryan and I are closing on our house this week! So we have a lot to do: organizing, packing, cleaning, etc. Today we are working on the doors, windows, baseboards etc. Carter is learning to be a good boy and help mommy. Here he is helping me clean the doors. Looks like he had fun doesn't it?

Scams..

So Ryan sold his old laptop on craigslist this week. What a trip. There are tons of cars on craigslist that are ridiculous. I just saw a 2007 Camry for 4k. And if you decided you want to buy it they tell you they are going to ship you the car for free! wow what a deal. anyways..

So I think we got at least 4 emails for people wanting us to ship them the laptop for there son who is going to school overseas.. They wanted to pay us via paypal. (and then I am sure somehow steal some info or money or something) Anyway one of these scammers I had a little fun with. For your reading pleasure.. enjoy the bad grammer of a supposed local Idahoan.. I think not.

Hi is your listed item still available for sale.

Yes.

I really appreciate the quick reply.I am buying this item for my son schooling overseas and i will be adding $100 for the shipping and handling.I would have made this transaction locally but am presently out of town On my Holiday so get back to me with your PayPal account email address as for me to send you the money i am doing this very fast because i have promised my son that the item will be there soonest get back to me immediately as for us to transact very fast.

Well when you get back in town I would happily meet up with you and sell you the Laptop. Let me know when you return and we can make plans then. Remember Cash only.
Thanks.

Thanks for your letter,it will take me some time to come back from my trip,so kindly get back to me with your paypal account as for me to transfer the fund into your paypal account immediately.

So maybe not the funniest thing in the world but do remeber to sell stuff to local people only! And with Cash of course!

Greenbelt

We went to the Greenbelt to feed the ducks and geese last weekend with a bunch of family. I didn't get a copy of their pictures- so I only have pictures of Ryan and Carter.

Ryan got the goose to eat out of Carter's hand!

In this picture Carter is saying "Dad this is so cool- look how close they are!" He was really excited. Ryan taught Carter how to chase the ducks..
I am not much of a duck/goose fan so I just took the pictures. It was a wonderful day!

Summer Days

I remember when I was a little girl and my mom tricked me into get a boy hair cut. She said it would be cool because it wouldn't be as hot. I think that really it was cool because she didn't have to untie knots out of my hair. Anyways shorter hair in the summer is cooler in the temperature kinda way. So Ryan gave Carter a cool hair cut. It matches his favorite baby cousin's recent haircut too.

Twitter

I added twitter to our blog. I am not sure how often I will use it but I have mentioned some giveaways on it. It's in our sidebar.

New Toy

For a while now I have wanted to make a toy for Carter that he will remember long into his adulthood. I contemplated blocks, cars, etc - but I finally decided to build him a busy box. So 20 switches later, 16 LEDs, 25 feet of wire, lots of electrical tape and solder, 2 burns, two band aids, 4 broken drill bits, and a few late nights, it is done. I ended up making it out of aluminum so it will withstand Carter and then some, and left room in it so I can update it or add new items. Currently it plays about 15 sounds depending on the combo of switches and even has a tilt sensor that flashes a red light. I will eventually add a Halmark card song into it and a vibrating weight to make it hard to hold or something. If you have any suggestions let me know.

What is this picture?

Guts
Work in progress the J has LEDs that shine through the holes

Easter Sunday

Ryan and I teach the 12 year old Sunday School class at our Church. This morning I have been preparing our lesson and it has moved me to strive to become a better disciple of Christ. I feel like our family is spiritually good but I know that we could be so much better.

For our lesson I have been reading this article from this month's Ensign and we also plan on sharing this video on The Mediator. Easter Sunday is a wonderful reminder of the sacrifice that Jesus Christ has made for us and the power of the Atonement that we can have in our lives if we but embrace it.

Remember that just like Christmas Christ is the reason for the Season (this Easter Season).

Happy Easter.

house, car, something funny

So we need to update because so much has happened this week. :)

First- On Monday we but a bid on a house.. and by Thursday afternoon we found out that they said yes! (we ended up with about 5 counters). So that means we are buying a house and moving! The house is on a quiet cul-de-sac with what seem to be very friendly neighbors. We are super excited!

Second- We totally got robbed! I don't know if Ryan forgot to lock the car or what but Friday morning Ryan left and came back super fast to tell me that our stereo was gone and a few other things that we had in the car. Long story short the police came by and later reported to us that the found the theif and we will get our stereo back next week.. but my question is what about the fact that the guy broke our dash and do we get like some kinda compensation for hassle, annoyance, and increased blood pressure?

Third- It's Easter and on Monday we went over to friend's house and dyed hard boiled eggs and had a great FHE lesson on sharing.. Our children need a little help with that trait. Well the Easter Bunny showed up at our house and hide a few eggs for Carter (there are no pictures but there is a video) and he had fun finding them this morning. (Here is a great Easter Video about more important things then an Easter Bunny)

And just a warning be very careful when blowing around warm candle wax.. but a really good laugh! Thanks Ryan.

Coloring

During Conference we gave Carter some Crayons and let him color. He was so pleased that he was producing something that after almost every stroke of the crayon he would put it down and clap his hands then draw another mark.
