Trip Home Pitstop: Nauvoo

On the way home from Wisconsin to Idaho, we stopped in Nauvoo, IL to see some of the old historical sites. For those that are not LDS (Mormon), Nauvoo was one of the first cities that members of our church settled before they went to Utah in the 1840's. Here are some pictures:



This is the Nauvoo temple. It was originally built in the 1840's.



This is the old newspaper printing building. We learned how to use a printing press, and played with an antique press.




This is a reproduction (rebuilt from the foundation) of one of the old bakeries. They make excellent gingerbread cookies.
