dear reader.
Dear Reader,
It's been a month since our last post and I have a lot of updating to do. On Memorial Day our ceiling caved in.. for real. We just moved back in so now I can share all the pictures and info.. So all the work is almost done we have a new ceiling, patched walls, ordered new handrails and wood ledges. We redid our fireplace (well we are still working on it) and our thinking of painting our kitchen cabinets white, Ryan added recessed lights in the living room, hall way, and kitchen. We stripped the wallpaper from the sun room and we painted the main living areas. We had lots of help and are so glad that Ryan's family could come up and help us- and that grandma could baby sit Carter for us while we worked. Oh and did a mention that I'm pregnant with number 2 as well? Life is crazy but we are so glad this happened now with one child rather than later with 2 and we are also so grateful that we were not home when the ceiling caved in.

Carnival
We went to the carnival last night. We had enough cash for a few rides one we did together, two just for Carter and one just for Ryan (although Ryan was willing to let me hang upside down and him watch.. I just said it's his birthday week so... ) Carter really liked the car ride. no smiles but he sure threw a fit when we took him out of the car. We love our little boy and love watching him learn and experience new things.. he's 15 months!!

The Bedroom
Our mothers have been wanting more pictures of the home, so here is one more room. The room is kinda a strange shape - but it is really large which we like. Imagine the state of Idaho on its side and that is the rooms shape. We also have two nice sized windows so it is really bright in the afternoons but stays cool because of the large trees in front.
I still don't know what colors to do. We both really like blues, greens, browns, slate black.. basically spring in Idaho country- I love the fields; some plowed, some planted and the random trees and blue blue sky. How to decorate and make a quilt like that? hmmm

We will try to post some more soon, and would have posted sooner but we have been trying to tame the jungle that is our yard. (oh and did you notice.. his and hers closets (Ryan's is why the room is shaped like Idaho).. :))
can you tell that Ryan typed some of this and I did too?

My smart boy.
Carter is so smart. We just had a conversation and I thought I would share it with you.
Bah- points at my water
Would you like a drink?
Bah
Where is your cup?
Bah- points at fridge where we usually have cup with milk in it.
of course it wasn't in there but I love that he knows what I am saying and that he can tell me what he wants (or that I can understand him).

Sunday Drive
The day was so beautiful that we decided to take a scenic drive after lunch. We went East to Swan Valley and took the forest roads to Falls Creek waterfall. The picture below does not do it justice - while it is not a far drop, the falls are really wide and loud.
Next we kept on the forest road and headed to the reservoir. We had planned on just walking along the shore, but Carter decided to go for a swim. He walked about 5 feet into the water and then just ploped on his belly and started swimming - he went about another 5 feet and started screaming. He has been practicing in the bathtub and apparently wasn't afraid to try in a lake. The only thing that surprised him was the cold.

Living Room
I figure we will go one room at a time..
This is our living room. As far as remold goes I think the only thing we really want to do is crown molding.. maybe we have ceiling heat (so I don't know if we can go nailing things up there) and update the lighting. Oh and maybe something with the fireplace we don't love the painted brick but what can we do?

Scams..
So Ryan sold his old laptop on craigslist this week. What a trip. There are tons of cars on craigslist that are ridiculous. I just saw a 2007 Camry for 4k. And if you decided you want to buy it they tell you they are going to ship you the car for free! wow what a deal. anyways..
So I think we got at least 4 emails for people wanting us to ship them the laptop for there son who is going to school overseas.. They wanted to pay us via paypal. (and then I am sure somehow steal some info or money or something) Anyway one of these scammers I had a little fun with. For your reading pleasure.. enjoy the bad grammer of a supposed local Idahoan.. I think not.
Hi is your listed item still available for sale.
Yes.
I really appreciate the quick reply.I am buying this item for my son schooling overseas and i will be adding $100 for the shipping and handling.I would have made this transaction locally but am presently out of town On my Holiday so get back to me with your PayPal account email address as for me to send you the money i am doing this very fast because i have promised my son that the item will be there soonest get back to me immediately as for us to transact very fast.
Well when you get back in town I would happily meet up with you and sell you the Laptop. Let me know when you return and we can make plans then. Remember Cash only.
Thanks.
Thanks for your letter,it will take me some time to come back from my trip,so kindly get back to me with your paypal account as for me to transfer the fund into your paypal account immediately.
So maybe not the funniest thing in the world but do remeber to sell stuff to local people only! And with Cash of course!

Summer Days
I remember when I was a little girl and my mom tricked me into get a boy hair cut. She said it would be cool because it wouldn't be as hot. I think that really it was cool because she didn't have to untie knots out of my hair. Anyways shorter hair in the summer is cooler in the temperature kinda way. So Ryan gave Carter a cool hair cut. It matches his favorite baby cousin's recent haircut too.
