End of Year Party

Last Saturday all the old friends got together and had a party in the Cottonwood lounge. We had some good food, played wii and xbox's rockstar, and foosball. You gotta check out the first video. Brock has got some mad skills...

I'm not in a math class right now. But I haven't blogged in a while so I thought I would post a cartoon.

School is almost done!

eleven months

One month from today is our 1st Anniversary and I'm excited. Being married is really fun. Getting married is so fun too. I got to say I loved my hair (Becky Oliver did awesome) and I love love loved my dress (I had a great design and my mom did an amazing job) and I had great earrings (borrowed from one of my mom's friends). It was a great day and I felt so happy and beautiful. I would recommend that every bride loves her dress and her hair.. but most important to love her man. I tried many times to get a picture to post but.. they are all not on the computer right now and it was not gonna happen sorry. But it's so important to have good pictures too, I just looked at all of mine.. makes me happy seeing how happy and great we look on our wedding day.

Cress Warm Spring

Yesterday Reed and Tyler and Liz and I went on a hike up Cress warm creek. It is just north of Hesie, and was a great hike. We were originally looking for Elkhorn Warm Spring, but missed it and ended up at Cress which was warm too. It comes out of the ground at about 70ish, just barely steaming at the source. Maybe next week we will look for Elkhorn.

Sunday Dinner

I love to cook! and even more I love to work with others to make a great meal (AKA I don't like to cook alone). Sunday Ryan and I went to Reed's House to make dinner. Let me tell you.. it was so good! I brought my pasta machine and we made homemade noodles. Reed's neighbor gave them some elk and Ryan seasoned it amazingly (he is really good with seasoning meats.. yum!). The combo of the homemade noodles and the fabulous elk created a amazing Sunday Dinner. Here are some pictures..

Stockings

My sister's favorite part about Christmas Morning is opening the stockings. So I guess it's kind of a big deal at the Stone house. My mom has 3 sets of stockings at our house. (she is a little bit over the top this woman). Anyways so of course being my mother's daughter and my sister's sister I to believe that stockings are important. So my quest to make stockings has began. I went to a few stores.. a few more than Ryan would have liked and I ended up disappointed and dismayed. Fabric shopping is not my favorite activity... unless it's at Porter's in Rexburg (or other noteworthy quilt shop stores in other cities). Which is the store I went to Tuesday after my unsuccessful shopping in Idaho Falls on Monday. I walked in and not even 5 minutes later these beautiful fabrics jumped right out to me.



I created the following stockings based off a scanned image of a stocking I used growing up. I am not finished yet I still need to add a white cuff and embroider our names on them. Ryan's is the green tree one and mine is the blue snowflake one. (they are not perfect.. but it's only my first set of stockings.. right?)



I am sure that pictures will be posted of the final product. If not soon at least by the 25..

Random Photos I want to Share

This picture hangs on our wall and is the location I proposed to Liz in California, and it was painted by my Grandmother. The frame was custom made by our friend Brock.
This is the Salt Lake Conferance center. They are currently building a building just like this on our campus, except it will only seat 15 thousand.
This was a really cool house in Salt Lake. I really liked the architecture.

This weeks creations

I fired some items today, and decided to post my favorite ones. The first one is copper colored. The color was achieved by smoking it in a trash can filled with newspaper shreds. The second was made to look like a tree trunk. The fountain was completed last week, but I did not finish it until today. It has live plants in it and even a fish.

Rexburg Temple

Tonight Liz and I had the neatest experience. We were able to go inside the Rexburg Temple and help prepare for the open house. Liz worked on the floors, and I helped building scaffolding and cleaned the baptismal font.
Just the chance to be inside was reward enough, but afterward we were had a tour, and became friendly with the tour guide. The guide showed us through all the rooms, even some rooms that are very sacred and special, and then we were able to go to the top which is the eighth story inside the steeple, and even on the roof.
We did not take any pictures from inside, but took these from on top of the roof. I wish that some of our friends and family could have been with us to share in this experience.

Cherubim Part 2

Ryan has been working hard on the guardian of our future home. Some people have lion statues outside their house, but not us we are gonna have a cherubim. ("Providing it survives the 2800 degree oven it is going into next week" -Ryan) Here are some pictures of Ryan's progress since Saturday:

Things I love

In the spirit of Thanksgiving I thought I would list a few things that I love and can't image being without (but probably would survive if we didn't have them)

• I love our shower head. We bought a beautiful powerful head that moves with us (to all our apartments) and turns any dull shower into a blissful retreat.
• Our feather pillows (we both favor Ryan's (which Grandma Miller gave him) but we have two nice ones). Sleeping is so much nicer when you have a great pillow.
• Our covered parking space. It is so great and it isn't even winter yet. I am just amazed at how we don't get frost on our car.
• Bathtubs. When I began my job this past summer I learned the importance of bath time. A long warm bath at the end of a horrible day is so amazing.

Well there are a few for today. As you can see my favorite things make me comfortable. Is that a bad thing? (basically sleeping and bathing are my favorite things (because it's when I sleep in that I have to drive to school or be late and then I am grateful I don't have to scrape our car).

Cherubim

For Ryan's ceramics class he has to do a historical piece he has chosen a cherubim, the things on the ark of the covenant, angelic beings that hang out with the flaming sword in the Garden of Eden, and the things that are on kings thrones. This is the one that he choose to replicate:

It happened!

I knew this day would come but who knew it would come so soon? There I was in line for my Thanksgiving dinner at our ward dinner and then it happened.. "Can I touch your belly?" "ummm sure.." and then she told me about how it must be weird when people do that and blah blah.. I can't believe it!

Who was Right?

Well the results are in and the poll reads that 76% think boy and only 23% think girl, but who was right?
The 76%!

That's right we are having a BABY BOY!

If anything changes will let you know on March 20th.
The ultrasound told us that he is healthy and growing well!
We are so excited for the little guy.
So for the my family that's one more grandson and for the Ryan's it's the first little grand baby!
