LDS Rumors

So this weekend is conferance, and lots of rumors are going around that there will be some great thing announced. Our cousin Jesse said that it will be historic with a capital H. So we looked it up...

Elder Russell M. Nelson, reportedly said on 17 March in a meeting at BYU that, "while all conferences are historic," this one would be "historic with a capital H."

So what will happen?

I think that the temple square tabernacle will be dedicated and that the announcement will have something to do with a new temple being built.

Liz thinks that conference will bash public schooling. (more posts on this topic soon...)

I made a pie!

Lookie!!
I am in a foods class on campus and today we made apple pies. I was so nervous because I have never made a real pie. Every Thanksgiving I always made the chocolate pudding pie (with purchased oreo crust), doesn't really count. So I was scared that my crust (I made the crust by hand aren't you proud?) would be gross but it got 5-s all the way across a perfect score. I was afraid I wouldn't like it. In the past I have not been a big fan of mushy fruits, but I like it! If you couldn't tell that's a drawing of Ryan on the crust see the similarities? I was so excited I showed my pie to the following people; Jena, Sister Lammons, Amelia, Emily, Michelle, Lacey, Brother Rane, Brother Dennis, Katie Grinder, Brother McCoy, Ryan (obviously), Grandma J, Grandpa J, Devin, Deborah and in that order as well and Now all of you as well! Isn't it pretty?

Games at the Johnstons

Today we went to Idaho Falls to play games with our Grandparents. Here are some pics. The game is Carcazone. This is a new version that my parents gave my grandparents for Christmas. The Johnston's love to play games and it is a great way for fun interaction with everyone. People should play more games!

Mysterious Caller

Ryan and I got to school early today to do some homework before class. So we were just sitting there in the Taylor minding our own business when my phone began to ring. hmm who is calling me at 8 am? and where does a 519 number come from? "hello" 'Hi! this is Laura!" LAURA called me. Happy days. Turns about that Laura was at the airport getting ready to depart for South Dakota, for her mission, she is done at the MTC and is ready to teach the gospel. Woo Hoo. Yeah for Sister Nicholls! Well I am very proud of my little Laura for going out to preach to the world (or the people who live in the cold states of her mission). Anyways I should get back to reading my newspapers (I have an assignment where I have to read 5 articles in 5 different newspapers 30 times (separate days) I personally find this a dull annoying time consuming assignment but I only have 4 days left or 20 articles after I finish today). Happy Wednesday.

Curses!

So last night we had some friends over and played curses. Its a game where the other players assign a curse like For the rest of the game like; Speak like a pirate, or Every time someone says the name if another player you have to shake like you are in a earthquake. It got really fun when our neighbor had to speak like he had a golf ball in his mouth, through clenched teeth, with a French accent,with a high pitched voice, bark like a dog, and hiccup between every word.
If you have never played we highly recommend it. What other game lets you make your friends act insane?

what a blustery day..

Well since we have lived in Rexburg Ryan and I have learned what wind is, and it is powerful. So instead of just crying about it, we embraced it. Ryan and I took our kite out which we call Rex (he's a fierce shark kite). And we had a lot of fun. We had Rex flying high about the town of which it was named after and we also had him rigged to "swim" through the air like a drunken sailor or in this case a drunken shark.

our adventure

Ryan and I only had one class today so we decided that when we got out of class we would go on an adventure! It was so exciting. Everyday the school has a gazillion (that's a lot) of trucks take loads of rocks out of town-but where do they take them? That was our mission to discover the secret of the rocks that leave campus. So we picked a truck to follow and soon it was off the road and sitting in a parking lot... hmmm but since there are a gazillion trucks we quickly found another to follow. The adventure turn out to take us all the way down Yellowstone Hwy and down to the old buildings that in olden times filled trains (you know the one with a face painted on the side of it) and then we turned east and followed a little further and we found the site. A large hole in the ground where the school dumps rocks. I adventure was exciting, but know it's over.

Audi...

It was a dark night when we left the Pinnacle building late on Saturday night. When upon our exit we soon saw the damage that had been done to our little Audi (the notorious black 2 door Neon that faithfully takes us to school through rain snow and bitter cold). Yes that is right innocently sitting in the back lot of the building our car was sadly mistaken for a peanut and a great big monster of a Tahoe ran into the right side (my side) of the car. The little fighter survived but Audi didn't leave without some evidence of the attack, he now has a black-eye (big scratch on the right headlight) and without his inner light (the fog lights are ruined and smashed) not to mention his once strong collar (the right side of the bumper was broken to pits and reduced to rubble) is now sitting inside the car, he was also stripped of his dignity (the Dodge Ram symbol on the hood was forced off).

Well anyways.. The guy left us a note so hopefully all will be taken care of and then Audi will be able to return to the streets, with honor rather than the embarrassment he must have now seeing as he is half naked.

Us Stones Love to cook

Well I decided this morning that I was going to search online for a pretty salt and pepper set. Currently we have one small salt shaker (the kind that you get for cheap made from cardboard and has pictures of food on it.) and a large pepper container (the kind you use to fill a pretty shaker if you own one). And as I was looking I found a really cool Kitchen website. Really cool. Everything I could possibly ever want for a kitchen is there-I have not seen everything on the site so I suppose there are somethings they do not have, that I might want.. but they have a lot. so I thought the rest of the Stone clan and maybe a few others might want to take a look. http://fantes.com/ they have stuff I have never heard of.. an egg cuber, makes your hard boiled eggs cubed to prevent rolling.. Makes me want it, just so I can try it.. :) Anyways just looking is fun.

Oh and in my cooking class I learned how to make perfect hard boiled eggs. No grey coloring around yolk, no breaking, and easy peelage, I know you must be dieing to know my secret so I will let you in on the secret. first start with cool water, add eggs, bring to boil, cover, turn off heat, allow to sit on burner for 15 minutes (I was a little scared so I let it sit for 18 minutes) and then drain hot water and place in cool water, change water a few times so the egg gets cool, this allows the membrane to remove itself from the egg.. and then they are PERFECT.. or so the story says. :)
