pregnancy

9/18/09
25 weeks
-morning after sleeping on the ground
-aka not the best picture..

I feel huge and then I look at this picture and I think I'm not that big.. I mean look at what I have to look forward too! I am so excited to meet our new baby and to feel skinny again.. not just because I am slightly vain (I guess) but because i miss the ache-less, painless daily life that is not pregnancy. Don't worry I am doing fine, pregnancy is relatively easy for me compared to others but I still prefer not to be pregnant but at the same time am glad that I am.. Does that make since? Anyways.. forget yourself and go to work right?

Back Rubs

Carter just gave me a back rub. It was way too short but it was nice while it lasted (10 seconds). Maybe I can teach him to give foot rubs too!

I think I knew someone who instead of giving time outs she had her kids do foot rubs and back rubs for her.

Trying to find Lost Spring

This weekend we went camping with Brock, Laura, and Heather (Laura's roommate). We camped on Warm creek, and tried in vain to find Lost Spring (on some maps called Bex Spring) because supposedly there is a nice hot pool there. After hiking for about an hour we could not find the spring, but had a good time anyways. In case you are interested here is the coordinates N 43.74007 W 111.38605. I use acme maps to plan trips, its the best mapping site I know of...let me know if you know a better one.

Kitchen

My kitchen is not done but I have my dishwasher, oven, and refrigerator. If you can't tell my oven isn't completely in.. but it will be soon. I broke in my new kitchen last night by making miniature apple pies in our toaster oven with my little custard cups as pie tins. Anyways we still need door fronts, drawers and top cabinets.. but it is looking better!! Neither one of us is totally in love with the green walls but it is growing on us. We think it looks great with the counter tops and contrasts with the white well.

really

8-6-09
This is what we have been doing this summer. I know blogs are all about the trips and then fun happy times.. not that this is unhappy.. but you know. I can't wait for it to be at least halfway done with the kitchen (AKA have the dishwasher, oven, and fridge back) Which should be soon very soon. I do have a kitchen sink now. I love cooking. no kitchen is no fun. But I am happy about the timing better now then when I am 9 months prego.. or when I have two kids to entertain.

a letter to Daddy

(Please excuse the white thing in the water under us..AKA my leg.)

When Carter and I were in Houston before Nicci's wedding we emailed Daddy this letter.

August 11

Dear Daddy,

We went to the beach this morning. At first I was not interested in the water. So I played with Uncle Andrew in the sand. Then when I turned around and looked Mommy and Uncle Jeffrey were in the water; so I went to go get her. Grandma did not like that idea she hollered at mom and then she came and got me. The water tasted pretty gross it was salty and very warm, not like the water back home-which is freezing and not so bad tasting. I got soaked! the waves knocked me over, but don't worry Mom caught me. After that I went back to the beach and the sand stuck all over my body. Mom washed me off in the ocean and than carried me to the car. I was so tired, but Uncle Jeffrey wouldn't let me sleep until we got all the way back to Grandma's house. I think I would like to come again. I wish you had come to the beach with us.

I love you,

Carter

I was in Houston for a week almost and I only took pictures at the beach.. I guess it is a good thing we did that so I could have some pictures. We had a lot of fun even though we were only there for 30 minutes!

Baby Toys

I brought Carter down to the computer room this morning and since this room is not finished yet.. i don't have a box of toys in it for Carter.. So I ran over to the baby closet and got a bag of old baby toys out. I handed him the bag and sat back down at the pc. Anyways. I hear this laughing and I look over and he has this binkie in his mouth laughing because it is so funny that he has a binkie in. It was ridiculously adorable.. not the best picture but he thought it was funny.

Carter the Clown

So everyday for breakfast Carter has a banana and then I share my frosted shredded wheat with him (I know I am weird but honestly I just get in Cereal ruts and I can eat the same cereal for months- in college I went through about 10 boxes of MultiGrain Cheerios before I changed cereals). This morning Carter put one of his pieces in his cup holder.. I looked in the cup holder at it and he smiled and said "all gone" and then he picked it up and but it behind his back and said it again "all gone" and then here is the kicker he put it on top of his head (dripping with milk) and then starts to tip his head ever so slowly so it will fall off unto the floor, at which time I took over and told him to stop being silly and to put his food in his mouth. Hard to not encourage bad behavior when it is so darn cute! I couldn't help but laugh at his silliness.

Baby Face

Well I know I have more readers than that.. but oh well.

It was lovely for us to see our baby last Friday and we did indeed find out that we are having a second son! We are excited and Ryan was right and I was wrong and surprisingly most of the ones that guessed guessed boy. So now my parents are going to have 5 grandsons and no granddaughters I think the first granddaughter is going to be spoiled.

Our little boy is growing and healthy and still on schedule for New Years Eve.. But I am hoping he comes 12 days early just like his big brother (or late to miss the holiday season). We are excited and I believe I will post a pregnant belly picture so we can compare how ridiculously huge I am at 22 weeks with this baby compared to how small I was with Carter.

Baby Time!

I am 20 weeks pregnant. That means that this week we get to find out what gender our child is!! I am so excited. Way more then I think I was with Carter. I KNEW that Carter was a boy from the beginning- this baby I don't know. I think girl but who knows either way is going to be so much fun! So what do you think. Are we going to have two boys or are we going to have a little girl? I will let you know on Friday if you post a comment and let me know what you think.

Summer Fun Continues

I really do not recommend letting this happen to you.. I had sand everywhere!!

St Antony Sand Dunes July 9

Carter prefers Rocks over
being buried in the sand.

Summer Fun

Island Park in Bloom

Four Generations

We had Madi and Ryan's Dad ride with us to West Yellowstone for stimulating conversation.

And boat races in the creek, the top right ducktape boat won- sadly it wasn't the one we made.

We had a lot of fun at the family reunion it was a good break from our busy life working on the house.

dear reader.

Dear Reader,

It's been a month since our last post and I have a lot of updating to do. On Memorial Day our ceiling caved in.. for real. We just moved back in so now I can share all the pictures and info.. So all the work is almost done we have a new ceiling, patched walls, ordered new handrails and wood ledges. We redid our fireplace (well we are still working on it) and our thinking of painting our kitchen cabinets white, Ryan added recessed lights in the living room, hall way, and kitchen. We stripped the wallpaper from the sun room and we painted the main living areas. We had lots of help and are so glad that Ryan's family could come up and help us- and that grandma could baby sit Carter for us while we worked. Oh and did a mention that I'm pregnant with number 2 as well? Life is crazy but we are so glad this happened now with one child rather than later with 2 and we are also so grateful that we were not home when the ceiling caved in.

-Lizwork in progress on the fireplace

oh and the new baby is due on New Years Eve. I am 14 weeks (I think)

Carnival

We went to the carnival last night. We had enough cash for a few rides one we did together, two just for Carter and one just for Ryan (although Ryan was willing to let me hang upside down and him watch.. I just said it's his birthday week so... ) Carter really liked the car ride. no smiles but he sure threw a fit when we took him out of the car. We love our little boy and love watching him learn and experience new things.. he's 15 months!!
